A Study for Oral Health Condition of workers in Hanbo Steel Corporation

Abstract
|
|
|
The aims of this study were to evaluate worker´s recognition about oral health care and to know worker´s
oral condition and treatment need. For this study, the ready made questionnaire and oral exanumtion were
carried out during 9 days The sample was consist of the 2380-workers in hanbo steel corporation. The results were as follows:
1. The results of past history were dental visit(32.60) and scaling(14.4%).
2. Self evaluations of labor´s oral condition were sound(28.9%), unclear condition(23.5%), dental caries(31.31), periodontal disease(12.2´0), dental caries and periodontal disease(2.81).
3. Diet habits which had a high frequency intake were sweet food and soft drink(21.1%), hard and tough(11.1%) and snack(8.4%). Low frequency of diet were sweet food and soft drink(21.79/6), hard and tough(43.7´9) and snack(32.4%).
4. Frequencies of tooth brushing per one day were 2(50.1%), 3(30.4%), 4(8.8.0, 1(8.4%), and more than 5(1.8´0. Methods of tooth brushing were horizontal(29.4%), rolling(52.5%) and both(13.4%)
5. The results of oral sign and symptom were hypersensitivity due to cold food(37.2/6), hypersensitivity due to tooth brushing(10.80), gingival bleeding tendency(35.1%), clicking sound on TMJ(10.6%), pain on TMJ or limitation of mouth opening(2.9´1), halitosis(37.9%) and easy crown fracture and to be fine(12.8%)
6. The results of oral examination were dental caries(37.5%, 0.801.40), teeth with capability of dental caries(26.20, 0.460.96), missing(27.45/6, 0.60157), periodontal disease(31.91), abrasion of tooth(12.1%) and third molar with problem(25.8´0).
7. In the treatment need, there were no treatment need(47.20), restoration(31.89/6), crown & bridge(12.1%), scaling(9.7%), flap operation(6.6%), extraction(14.00), TMJ disorder therapy(0.1%) and denture(0.99/0).
